Cradlepoint MBR1000 Not Connecting

Here is a quick list of the most common reasons why your Cradlepoint MBR1000 isn't connecting:

  • Incompatible Card or Device: If your Cradlepoint MBR1000 is not connecting to 3G, it could be because your expresscard, USB dongle, or cell phone is not compatible with this router.  Unfortunately not all cards and devices are compatible.  Check out our MBR1000 compatibility list to make sure your card or device is on it.
  • Bad Signal Reception: Often times the problem isn't with compatibility, but simply with low level of 3G signal reception.  There are only a few ways of remedying this, including moving or complaining to your cell phone provider, but the easiest is probably to get a cell phone booster.  These boosters increase reception of both cell phone signals and data signals
  • Settings are Incorrect:  Often times the router won't broadcast 802.11n or pick up 3G signals properly because the settings are out of whack or were set-up incorrectly in the beginning.  Typically it is easier to reset all settings rather than troubleshoot and correct them.  To reset all settings, hold the reset button for 20 seconds.  This will cause you to have to set the router up as if you had just taken it out of the factory sealed box.  This will give you the chance to set it up correctly, especially if the router has been previously used.
